Employee of the Month for May

This month David is our Employee of the Month for May. David has been with us two and a half years and has worn a variety of hats during that time. He has helped out as a Kennel Associate, Doctor Assistant, Concierge, Floater and most recently, a Vet Tech Assistant. He found his calling as a Veterinary Technician while attending NCC for their Vet Tech program. When he wasn't in school, David worked almost every weekend assisting the doctors in taking care of the hospitalized pets on the weekends. When not up in the hospital, he is often found assisting on IT-related projects keeping our technology up and running.Thank you David for all that you do for us in all the roles you assume. We look forward to your return to BHPH full time now that you have graduated. Congratulations on your achievement!

Employee of the Month for April

Please congratulate Sebastian as our April Employee of the Month! Since he joined us last fall, Sebastian has made great contributions up in the hospital. With his background as a Doctor in Ecuador, he brought a strong skill set to us, but he has honed his companion animal skills even more since being with us. Though he is a bit quiet and reserved, that hasn't stopped him from stepping out of his comfort zone and doing great things. Most recently, he has taken on the role of Outpatient Tech and it has been very helpful to have a Vet Nurse assist the Doctors downstairs in the exam rooms when bloods need to be taken or fluids administered. Sebastian has also been most accommodating of our scheduling needs and he even did a stint helping out in the kennel one day! Thank you, Sebastian, for your flexibility and offering to help wherever needed most. Keep up the great work and thanks for being a valued member of our team.

Employee of the Month for March

Congratulations to our March Employee of the Month, Amanda. Though she has not even been with us a year yet, Amanda has made an impact with clients who often mention how helpful she has been to them. She is one of the smiling faces that clients first see as they walk and in.  They like her politeness and welcoming manner as she greets them and their dog with a smile. The dogs love her too, as well they should, as she also has a pet sitting business which has helped her perfect her skills. Amanda keeps very busy up front, whether it is settling clients in exam rooms, returning client calls and emails, communicating with the Kennel or Nurses about pick ups and drop offs, doing the Doctor's lists or filling prescription refills. It's all in a day's work for her as a CSR and we appreciate her hard work and positive attitude every day. Great job, Amanda!

Warm Weather is Almost Here

Warm weather is almost here and many of you may be heading out of town to events or vacations. We wanted to let you know that there are a handful of boarding facilities that are requiring a special test on a stool sample called the Giardia Elisa. Giardia is a microscopic organism that, when present, is often found on routine screening. We do not require this specific test for boarding at BHPH nor do we test for this during wellness visits.  Additionally, the Influenza vaccination may also be required at some locations. Please inquire with your boarding/daycare facility about their requirements. If they do have the above as requirements and you wish to have either the Giardia test or the Influenza vaccine (to be completed in a series of TWO injections 2-3 weeks apart) done at BHPH, please call us to schedule a visit.

Employees of the Month for February

As we look forward to Spring, we also look back to Winter for the winner of Employee of the Month for February. It has been a long winter and the Kennel Group has gotten us all through it. With that in mind, this month, we are changing things up and honoring Elmer, Angel, Jonathan, Teddy and Ixmucane as collective winners this month. The Kennel Group has worked hard all winter to clean up the kennel by power washing all the runs, organizing items on new shelving, discarding unused items, salting, shoveling and snow blowing the parking lot before we open and even building a shed for all of the power tools. This has all been in addition to their usual responsibilities. They have all worked hard and now deserve to be recognized as winners this month. Much of their work is behind the scenes but doesn't go unnoticed. Please thank them all for all that they do to help keep BHPH clean and safe for us, our clients and their pets.

Employee of the Month for January

Our January Employee of the Month is Jorge. He does a great job each month helping to keep things running smoothly upstairs, especially when Maribel or Otto are away. He not only helped bear the burden of extra shifts, but he took on the leadership role several days when Maribel was away.  Jorge was also very helpful in assisting Dr. Petrie with patients. Jorge is good at what he does and is well liked by staff, clients and the pets he handles.  Best of all, you know if you work with him, you will have a good time. He is a hard worker, always has a smile and he keeps things light and fun with his humor. For these, and many more reasons, this award is well deserved. Congratulations, Jorge!

Employee of the Month for December

This  month Sandi is our Employee of the Month for December. Sandi "worked like a dog" during the month of December. She had such high demand for grooming appointments that she overbooked herself to accommodate everyone. As a result, she spent many long days here and she even worked two Saturdays in December to get it all done on time so no one was disappointed. Despite the large volume of dogs being done, Sandi got rave reviews on the cuts as usual.  Thank you Sandi for your dedication to your clients and making sure their pets all looked their holiday best. Congratulations on your win!

Employee of the Month for November

This month we celebrate Ann as our November Employee of the Month. You never know where you will find Ann: downstairs in the kennel, in the pharmacy as a Concierge or Floater or even upstairs as Hospital Kennel Staff on Sundays. No matter where she is, she wears a smile, has a story to tell and is often in search of a cute puppy or kitten to hold and show everyone. Ann is a jack of all trades and we appreciate her flexibility in scheduling, her dedication to the pets who walk through our doors and for her ongoing commitment to BHPH. Well done, Ann!

Employee of the Month for October

Please congratulate Kimber for being our October Employee of the Month! Kimber always has a smile and is ready to take on the day when she gets here. Her bubbly personality make her perfect for interacting with clients and their pets and it is always a pleasure working with her.  With her infectious laugh, she often has us all in stitches, but she does take her work seriously.  Recently, she has been especially helpful training new Dr Assistants as well as helping out as Concierge when needed. Wherever she is, you always know you will have a good time working with Kimber. Keep up the good work, Kimber!
