As you know, Dr. Steve Zeide serves on the board of the Stamford Animal Shelter Alliance (SASA), a nonprofit organization set up by the City of Stamford as the main fundraising arm of the Stamford Animal Control & Care Center, Stamford’s municipal animal shelter. Over the past few years, we have been working hard planning and fundraising for a new animal shelter, a long overdue capital project. After many years of study, our proposal for an incredible, state-of-the-art animal shelter was included in Mayor Simmons’ Capital Budget this year. Excitedly, the full allocation - $4.4 million - made it through the Stamford Planning Board last month! Now we await approval by the Board of Finance and Board of Representatives, although both boards may reduce or even cut the request. We will do our best to see that that doesn’t happen, but in the meantime, it is critical that we continue our fundraising efforts. That’s where you come in! Today, Thursday, February 24, 2022 SASA we will be one of many deserving nonprofit organizations participating in Fairfield County’s Giving Day. Powered by the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation and Sponsor Bank of America, Fairfield County’s Giving Day harnesses the collective giving power of local individuals, businesses and organizations to support nonprofits throughout Fairfield County. This is our fifth year participating and we have set a goal to expand our number of individual donors and hopefully match or surpass our fundraising efforts from last year. Please visit https://www.fcgives.org/organizations/stamford-animal-shelter-alliance to support SASA by making an online donation! Consider making a tax-deductible donation this Giving Day via their Giving Day landing page: Donate | Fairfield County's Giving Day (fcgives.org). For more information about SASA, please contact them at: firstname.lastname@example.org or visit SASA's website. If that isn't enough incentive to donate already, BHPH will be donating one week of Pet Lodging to the first 5 people to donate $300 or more. So please consider that tax-deductible donation today to help get us a step closer to a new animal shelter here in Stamford. Thank you for your anything that you can do to support!

February Employee of the Month is Sharon Lewis. Since Sharon has joined the BHPH team, earlier this year, she has always made herself available to help, in a variety of capacities, from covering shifts, to babysitting Charlotte, during COVID, to tracking and handling of unposted daily transactions. She is great with clients, employees, and pets! Congratulate her, when you see or speak with her next.
