-- Canine Influenza, Should We Vaccinate? --

Currently Bull’s Head Pet Hospital is not recommending the Influenza vaccine:

  • The vaccine does not prevent disease, just makes the symptoms less severe
  • The vaccine does not prevent the shedding of the virus from infected dogs
  • There are no known side effects from the vaccine. It is given twice 14 days apart then yearly thereafter
  • Should your groomer, kennel, day care require it, we will administer the vaccine.  The cost is $34 per injection or $59 for both at the first injection.
Please see our website article on Bordetella (home page – www.mybhph.com) to avoid confusion with the Canine Influenza.
